WebCT,
the course software used at AUC, gives teachers an easy-to-use
website through which they can conduct electronic discussions,
post assignments, give quizzes, send email, and so on. Although
navigating WebCT is mostly intuitive, there are a few areas
that need explaining if you've never used WebCT before.
The Bulletin
Board / Discussion Tool
Through this tool, students can post messages and carry on
a discussion with their peers and teacher outside of class.
The messages are grouped under threads, which can be then
expanded or collapsed. You can also post attachments and download
messages too.

Email
All email in WebCT is internal, meaning you can only send
it to another WebCT email address. However, you can adjust
your settings so that WebCT emails sent to you are also sent
to your external (hotmail, for example) address. Click browse
to see a list of people you can email in your WebCT email
program. In your email, avoid slipping into informalities
that are inappropriate in a college setting.

In the calendar tool, the current month is shown
and today's date is highlighted. Here you will see due dates
and other class events posted on this calendar. Sometimes an
event has more information than is shown. To see this extended
information, click the blue date number. You can also use the
calendar to post your own dates and activities. They will appear
in italics and be visible only to you.
