Science Building and Garden

Science was one of the first subjects taught at AUC and its laboratories and faculty offices were located in the second floor of the Palace, rooms 209 220, until 1966 and then moved to the purpose-built science building. The first 3 floors of the science building housed chemistry, physics, mathematics, and solid state science units. The 6th floor housed research labs, the computer center and NCR computer company. Floors 4 and 5 were completed after 1970 to house the expanded science units and the new materials science and engineering unit. Several articles under the Science Building section give more detail about its history.
