Prerequisites: CSCI 210, MATH 306. Offered occasionally.
Simulation modeling with emphasis on discrete event simulation. The design of a simulation experiment. Simulation languages. Probability and distribution theory. Statistical estimation and inference. Random number generators. The generation of random variates. Verification and validation techniques. Presentation of a number of typical simulation models is used throughout. Students work in teams on a term project.
