Roots of equations. Solution of nonlinear equations. Fourier approximation. Numerical differentiation and integration. Numerical methods for solving both ordinary and partial differential equations. Introduction to the finite element method. The course emphasizes engineering applications and the use of interactive computer program for problem solving. Computer project.
