Welcome to the 2019 BoP Global MENA Summit
In collaboration with Enterprise for a Sustainable World (ESW) and BoP Global Network Labs, The John D. Gerhart Center for Philanthropy, Civic Engagement and Responsible Business is hosting the first MENA BoP summit in Cairo, Egypt. The summit aims for transformational change, through participating in building strong ecosystem for BoP communities in Egypt.
The main theme of 2019 is Community-Based Frugal Innovation (frugal innovation that are lead and owned by the community), with four main subthemes: Grassroots Innovation, Schooling at the BoP, Affordable Housing, and Access to Health Services at BoP. The three days event brings expertise from different parts of the world, to meet with selected Egyptian BoP communities, in order to share experiences, showcase best practices, and explore opportunities of partnerships and localization of successful models.
The summit is designed in a non-traditional approach that ensures its effectiveness in terms of impact. The first two days (1-2 October) follow the traditional panels-conference approach and are open for wider audience. The Third day follows roundtables format and is by invitation only , to ensure more focus in scope and purpose.
