Objectives:
The thesis aims to document the manufacturing processes of the cyclone
separator. A cyclone separator is used as an air pollution control device; it is
also used in recycling purposes. The cyclone separator produced was a simulation
for the pollution control process in the cement industry.
Achievements
Achievements:
The thesis demonstrated that the efficiency of the separator will increase with
the manifestation of a radial electrostatic charge or a rotating mesh. The parts
were designed and manufactured outside the AUC, as the components were very big
and couldn't be manufacture in the AUC workshops. The program used for the
thesis produced a 97% efficiency with maximum modifications. In compare with a
50% efficiency for 2 micron particles such as a cement dust.
