Automation for Education “An Automated material handling system” Supervisor(s): Dr. Lotfi Gaafar Dr. Hanadi Salem Team Members: Hani Mahmoud Ahmed Sherif Mohamed Ahmed Sameh Raouf Hakim Ahmed Abdel Sattar Refaay Fady Malak Saad Objectives: The objective of this senor project is to design an illustrative educational model that supports learning of important automation concepts for mechanical engineering students. Achievements: An automated material handling system was developed as part of this project with a computer friendly interface that allow him/her to change some parameters governs the whole system. The model will allow the student through that computer friendly interface to change some parameters that govern the process of material handling like speed of the train, position of loading and unloading stations, the work envelope of the robot and the angles and speeds of its motion. As a result, the student through that project can trace the material handling process, understand the role of automation in this process and interact with the software.
