Supervisor(s):

Dr. Mohy Mansour

Dr. Amr Serag El-Din

Team Members:

Amr Galal Abdel-Kader

Ahmed Reda Ahmed

Mohamed El-Shebiny

Mohamed Feteis

Objectives:

bullet Gathering all the data required to find out the amount of waste heat available.
bullet Assessment and evaluation of recoverable waste heat sources to be used for cogeneration.
  1. Jacket cooling water.
  2. Exhaust gases.
bullet Studying different applications proposed.
bullet Studying possible combinations of applications.
bullet Economic analysis of the combinations studied.
bullet Studying environmental impact of different combinations.
bullet Selecting the most economically attractive combination.

Achievements:

bullet The analysis done in the project could reach an assessment of recoverable waste heat sources.
bullet A proper approach was followed to study the different application proposed for implementation.
bullet Economic study of each application individually was studied.
bullet Different combinations of applications to be applied are properly studied for economic impact and effect on thermal efficiency.
bullet Environmental impact of different proposed combinations was properly studied.
bullet Students could get real life engineering problems and projects.
