Ali Hadi, Vice Provost and Director of Graduate Studies and Research at the American University in Cairo (AUC), obtained his Ph. D. degree with honors in statistics and computer information systems from New York University in 1984. Prior to joining the American University in Cairo (AUC), he served as a Stephen Weiss Presidential Fellow and Professor of Statistics at Cornell University. Hadi is currently Professor Emeritus at Cornell University where, during the years 1984-2000, he served as assistant, associate, and full professor, as well as the chair of the Department of Social Statistics at Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations. He was a member of Cornell's Graduate Field of Statistics and theDepartment of Statistical Science. While at Cornell, Hadi received several scholarly honors and awards including the the Amoco Foundation Faculty Award, the Outstanding Educator Award, and the Schering-Plough Award for Exemplary Teaching.
