Dr. Hussein Amin is currently the chair of the Department
of Journalism and Mass Communication at the American University in Cairo http://www.aucegypt.edu/
where he serves as a senior fellow at the Adham Center
for Television Journalism, http://www.aucegypt.edu/adhamcenter .
Professor Amin holds several key positions in national, regional and global media. He is chairman of the Egyptian Radio and Television Union (ERTU)’s Research and Development Committee and a member of ERTU’s Board of Trustees, the governing body of Egypt’s radio and television broadcasting organization http://www.ertu.org/ . Dr. Amin is the former president for the Arab-US Association for Communication Educators (AUSACE) http://www.gsu.edu/~wwwaus/ , past chairman of the International Division of the Broadcast Education Association (BEA) http://www.beaweb.org , the world’s leading association in broadcasting education. Amin serve on the advisory Board of the World Congress for Middle Eastern Studies (WOCMES), the Journal of International Communication (JIC), and the International Association for Mass Media Research (IAMCR). Professor Amin has served as a reviewer for academic publications, including the Journal of Communication (JC), The Journal of Broadcast and Electronic Media and The Journal of European Communication. Dr. Amin is the senior editor of Transnational Broadcasting Studies (TBS), Arabic editor of the Global Media Journal( GMJ) and Middle East editor of the Journal of Global Media and Communication Journal.
Dr. Amin was honored by the three major associations in the field of Journalism and Mass Communication: the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) www.aejmc.org , the International Communication Association (ICA) www.icahdq.org , and the Broadcast Education Association (BEA).
