The continuing tensions in Lebanon are a source of concern for the AUC community; our thoughts are with the people of Lebanon during this difficult time. Because of the volatility of the ongoing situation, the university is advising all members of the AUC community to avoid travel to Lebanon. All AUC-sponsored trips to any part of Lebanon, whether scheduled or planned, are to be cancelled until further notice; previous authorizations and/or approvals for such trips are withdrawn.
As noted in the policy entitled Security for AUC-sponsored Trips & Travel, "Any trips or travel sponsored or supported by any department, area, club or group within AUC, whether for faculty and/or staff and/or students, require prior approval." That policy and supporting forms may be found under the heading "Downloads" on the Faculty & Staff and Students sections of the AUC web site. Anyone considering AUC-related trips or travel is encouraged to review that policy in advance.
