Many staff members are now using the AUC bus service as their downtown offices have relocated to the new campus.
Based on the unusual requests however made by some riders to the Family Transport bus drivers over the past couple weeks, it must be reminded that there will not be any extra pick-up points or stops along any of the routes, other than those already designated by the bus company and listed on the AUC bus web page.
As previously noted, the routes and schedules are preliminary and will therefore be continuously monitored and adjusted if and when needed to closely reflect demand. Consequently, buses running almost empty, at any given time and on any given route, will eventually be discontinued. Any adjustments to the bus service will be announced on AUC On The Move and New Campus News and updated schedules will immediately be posted on the bus web site.
The current limited summer schedule will be replaced by the Fall 2008-2009 bus schedule, a more complete service that is expected to come into effect in early September.
Now available online are also the Ramadan bus schedules. Ramadan is expected to begin on September 2. At the end of Ramadan, the bus schedule will switch to the regular Fall 2008-2009 service.
The arrival and departure bus schedules are listed as separate pdf files on the AUC bus web page that can be downloaded and printed. The arrival time (depending on traffic) to the new campus from any pick-up point and subsequent stop(s) along the routes, is marked in the top row of the arrival schedules. The same applies for the departures time from the new campus; they are all listed in the top row.
