All food services on the new campus will be provided by the Delicious Inc. AUC campus consortium.
The consortium, headed by Delicious Inc., was launched in 2006 and will bring together some of the leading food and beverage outlets in Egypt to the new campus, including:
Cilantro Cafe
Jared's Bagels
Ben's Cookies
Cinnabon
Mac Dessert
El Omda
Tabasco Cafe
Teriyaki Experience
Mercato Italiano
MacDonalds
GoGo juice
Quick 24 ( convenience store)
The outlets serving breakfast – such as Jared’s Bagels, Cilantro Café and Café Tabasco – will be open from 7:30 am and those serving lunch – such as Teriyaki – will be open from 11:00 am.
In addition, there will be a 24-hour Cilantro Café located in the athletics area, as well as a convenience store that will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and will provide a wide range of products from chips and soda to batteries and toothpaste.
The first food outlet on the new campus will be a Cilantro café which will open in June and cater to the offices relocating at that time. The remaining restaurants will open during the months of July and August. All of the food outlets are expected to be open on the new campus by September 1. At the beginning of the 2008/9 academic year, Delicious Inc. will launch a web site that will include menus and contact information for telephone deliveries from all outlets.
To provide Delicious Inc. with a clearer idea of the expectations of the AUC community regarding food services on the new campus, faculty, staff and students are invited to fill in a short questionnaire. The results will help Delicious Inc. provide a suitable range of food services that fit the needs of the community.
