How can I place materials on reserve for my summer session courses? (Faculty)
In order to place materials on reserve for either summer session you must submit the list of required materials (book, article,AV) before May 15, 2008. This will allow us to process the materials and have them ready for the first day of the first summer term. Articles from journals will be digitized so as to be available 24/7 electronically. Library books and AV will not be available if requested after May 15; personal copies are welcome but need time for processing. If you do submit a request later than May 15, expect delays in availability. Click here to view the reserve guidelines.  For inquiries, call Somaya Rady, reserve specialist, at ext. 6483 or Mamdouh Philip, head of circulation services, at ext. 6909.

How can I access my course reserve materials over the summer? (Students)
Materials on Reserve will be available Sunday-Thursday, 9-4, 10-2 Saturday at the Reserve Desk on the first floor of the Main Library. All articles will be available remotely, print materials will be checked out from the Reserve Desk and a photocopier will be located nearby. This will be the only accessible area of the Main Library after June 3, 2008.

Can I access the library databases even when the library is closed during the move to new campus?
The databases will be available as always. For databases available only on campus, visit a lab on campus.

How can I borrow books during the move to the new campus?
More than 30,000 books are available online through Ebrary, NetLibrary, Safari and other companies. Print books will be moving all summer and cannot be borrowed.

When will books borrowed in May be due?
All books checked out as of early May will be due on September 14, 2008 – at the New Cairo campus library!

Who will answer my reference questions during the move to the New Cairo campus?
The Reference Team will. Reference services will be available 9-4 Sunday-Thursday and 10-1 on Saturday.

Where can I study if the library closes?  I always use the library as my study space.
The labs maintained by Academic Computing Services will be a good place to study during the Summer Session, check the Student Lounge areas on all campuses as well the cafeteria areas.
