Staff reactions as they settle into their new offices

Over the past couple of weeks, offices from the downtown campus have finished moving into their new work space on the new campus. Most of the offices are located in the administration building and include human resources, alumni affairs, development and the president's office.

"This move is a huge project, I am proud to be here," explained Olfat Osman, assistant to director, Office of Development. Her colleague Mona El Abiad, research assistant, added: "This is very promising, it is a huge campus."

Magda Al Fattah, director of human resources operations, like much of her staff, has already settled into her office that overlooks the alumni wall. "We have a very high quality work life here on the new campus," said Al Fattah. "All the drawbacks will be sorted out in a couple days and it is worth waiting," she noted. "One drawback is that the air conditioning system is undergoing adjustments in some areas of the building; however, that seems to have been sorted out."

"The furniture in my office is fantastic because it is huge, clean and practical," said Lamiaa El Baz.

Academic Computing Services also recently moved and is now located in the library on the new campus. The other offices moving into the building this week are those of library staff members.

Finally, equipment from the Performing and Visual Arts department in the Falaki building has started to move to the new campus.
