Parents and Visitors

AUC is a vital bridge between cultures, linking Egypt and the region to the world through scholarly research, study-abroad programs and partnerships with academic and research institutions. A portal to the Middle East, AUC serves as a home to scholars from around the globe seeking to teach the region’s next generation of leaders and to conduct research in the heart of the Arab world.

AUC is an independent, nonprofit, apolitical, non-sectarian and equal-opportunity institution, fully accredited in Egypt and the United States. Its academic program is rooted in liberal arts education and focused practice. Its more than 4,000 undergraduates come from every corner of Egypt and from 100 countries. When they graduate, they join a worldwide network of more than 30,000 AUC alumni — leaders in finance, commerce, law, engineering, politics, culture, community service and computer science.

The university has its roots in Tahrir Square, the heart of Cairo, where it maintains several key programs in historic buildings near the Egyptian Museum. The university’s soon-to-be-completed 260-acre main campus in New Cairo will more than double the amount of space available to our students.
