Activities at AUC

President, Philosophy Club (2001-03)
Directed the effort of the Club members by assigning tasks in the organization process; developed programs to disseminate philosophical awareness and promote interdisciplinary dialogue; and coordinated the organization and logistics of academic lectures and conferences. Other responsibilities included supervising the design of brochures and posters and the editing and publishing of the 10th Anniversary Club booklet.

For her performance as the Club's president in 2001-02, Beate was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Office of Student Organization Activities.

Employment

Teaching Assistant, Philosophy Unit, Department of English and Comparative Literature (January 2002-2003)
Assisted in the preparation of classes, instructed students in analyzing and interpreting philosophical texts, composing papers, formulating philosophical arguments and performing research.

Supervisor, Center for Adult and Continuing Education, Special Studies Division (June 2001)
Assisted and guided students parallel to their class work, stimulated the students' ability to communicate in English, and organized extracurricular events.

Personal Notes

From 1996-1999, prior to attending AUC, Beate pursued Comparative Religious Studies and Jewish Studies in Heidelberg, Germany. She was simultaneously enrolled at Ruprecht-Karls University and the College for Jewish Studies, where she was also a Student Union representative and tutor.

She continues her studies following graduation, working toward a Master of Arts in Philosophy at the Free University, Berlin.
