March 26, 2006Professors debate merits of tenure
The American University in Cairo’s (AUC) tenure policy states that only 60 percent of faculty in each department is allowed to hold a tenured position. April Fool’s Day is only six days away, and while most students feel too mature to enjoy this day, those who still make the most of it are disappointed because it falls on a Saturday, limiting their pranks on campus. March 26, 2006In math’s defense
I graduated from AUC in the summer of 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. March 26, 2006AUC student reacts to El-Sallab

March 26, 2006clueless is as clueless does
When I was younger, I believed I was more mature than everyone around me who was my age. I was quite a serious child, a diligent student and an avid reader. In my mind, my intellect was developed beyond my years, and as a result, I was able to judge others according to their age but not myself.
This belief was reinforced by others’ opinions when older relatives and friends treated me as an equal. And I always felt more at ease with those older than me.
