Last Thursday, a number of outraged students and faculty decided to join the protest at the Journalists Syndicate after mobs sexually assaulted women downtown during Eid. We sent a reporter and photographer to cover the protest and the efforts made by AUC students to speak up. De-legitimizing Critical Thought at
AUC
The Caravan’s letter dated Nov. 5, criticized the October issue
of Middle Eastern Studies Center (MESC) newsletter. Although criticism
is an essential part of any academic institution, that particular issue
of MESC newsletter is not only poor in comparison to earlier issues,

AUC. I have been following the MESC newsletter since it was first started
by Professor Abdelaziz Ezzelarab when he was the Director of MESC in
1999-2000.

and projects. No one has any time to study when we are too busy stressing
about meeting deadlines and doing everything properly. . > FULL STORY

religious is condemned a “heretic” or at least blasphemous.
Those who dare try to rationalize or process any religious thoughts are
often criticized and attacked on the sole grounds of committing the crime
of thinking. God gave Muslims three important guides to follow in our
lives; the Koran, the hadith, and the brain that differentiates us from
other beings. > FULL STORY
