Leave your mark on AUC

‘The Wall’ on Greek campus at the American University in Cairo (AUC), put up last Monday by the Help Club, asks the question: “What is the one thing you would change about AUC?” and offers students the opportunity to write out their thoughts for their peers to read.
“It’s a fun idea that we as a high board committee came up with, and the whole idea is interacting with AUC students and the Help club members,” said Mostafa Sa’eed, Help club vice president.
More students than expected responded and the wall was filled by the second day, added Sa’eed. Some responses included, “quit smoking,” “not to move to the new campus,” “more chairs” and “less fancy outfits.”
“At first I didn’t understand what it was, then after figuring it out, I found it a very innovative and creative idea,” said Dina Zayed, political science junior.
“It’s a cool idea, unique. What I want to change is the move to the new campus,” said Alex Wright, Egyptology sophomore.
The Office of Student Development (OSD) did not object to the wall, but they worried about finding a proper place to put it, said Sa’eed.
The wall will be displayed until the end of the semester and all the responses are being kept for further use. One possible plan will be to produce a large banner that will be hung on campus displaying bits and pieces of the student’s responses, said Sa’eed.
