Prerequisite: For holders of Thanawiya Amma who did not take its chemistry course and for others lacking an equivalent chemistry qualification. Offered occasionally.

Introduction (what is chemistry?). The chemical view of matter, some principles of chemical reactivity, stoichiometry, man-made giant molecules -the synthetic polymers, biochemistry- chemistry of living systems, toxic substances -interference in biochemical systems, nutrition- the basis of healthy living, medicines and drugs, beauty and cleansing agents.
