Prerequisite: College level preparation course in mathematics or MATH 100. Offered in fall and spring.
Introduction to the discipline of computing. Sets, relations, functions. Propositional and predicate logic. Problem-solving concepts, algorithms, pseudo-code. Control structures, functions, procedures, parameters, one-dimensional arrays. Number systems, representation of data, computer organization. The social context of computing. Programming laboratory provides a systematic introduction to the Pascal language.
