Strength and Testing of Materials

Prerequisite: ENGR 212. Offered in fall and spring.
Concept of stress and strain in components, mechanical behavior of materials under
tensile, compressive, and shear loads. Hardness, impact loading, fracture, creep, and fatigue. Analysis of structures, axial loading, torsional loading, bending, transverse loading. Three class periods and one three-hour lab period.
