Same as SOC 411. Prerequisites: PSYC 301, junior or senior standing. Offered occasionally.
Empirical research and experimentation and the application of theories of social psychology in a variety of situations and problems. An emphasis will be placed on the personal and social construction of the self. The social psychology of community health and the environment. Selection and analysis of some problems or events from current, local, or international incidents to demonstrate how social psychology principles can increase our understanding of the almost unlimited types of social situations.
