Same as TAFL 511. Prerequisite: TAFL 510. Offered in the spring.
Survey of approaches to designing and implementation of a foreign language curriculum based upon the learners' needs. Emphasis on the four language areas (listening, speaking, reading, writing) in an integrated, content-based approach. Examination and critical analysis of materials and evaluation tools. Development of materials file and professional portfolio. Practicum component: (1) observations, 2 (teaching, including responsibility for development and implementation of learning activities and classroom management, with supervision by classroom teacher and University professor, (3) related professional activities, and (4) seminar. |
