Prerequisite: CHEM 316L or consent of instructor, and CHEM 306. Offered in fall. Organic synthesis involving organometallic compounds, chemical reduction and oxidation reactions chosen from Claisen, Freidel-Crafts, Hell-Volhard-Zelinsky reactions .etc. The syntheses incorporate chromatography and spectroscopic analysis.
