Prerequisite: consent of instructor. 545 offered in fall, 546 in spring.
Guided reading, research, and discussion. May be repeated for credit if content changes.   In recent years, the following courses have been offered under this heading: The Arabian Nights, The Lyrical Mode (in English, Arabic and French), Blackness, Identity and the Othello Paradigm, Literature of Alexandria, The Orient in Western Imagination, Travel Literature of Egypt, Discovery Narratives and the Emergent Discourse of Colonialism, the Bloomsbury Group, Utopias, Gothic and the Literature of Horror.
