Extra Help (Posted March 3, 2006)

Several students expressed concern that the practice during the lab is not enough and indicated the need for external support in light of my lack of availability (I take issue with that, but that'll be discussed later).

I think the hidden message is that we need to talk to someone who really understands electrical components!  I am glad to announce that Eng. Ahmed Hassan, an authority on the topic and an x-447 TA, has volunteered his time and offered two help sessions on  Sunday (the 5th) and Monday (the 6th) from 5 to 7 pm.  This is immediately following our labs and we'll finish early to allow those who are interested to take advantage of this opportunity. Ahmed will meet us in 407.

During these sessions, Ahmed will answer any questions you may have.  Ahmed works in BP and is on a one-week vacation after serving a full month in Abu Shokair.  I really appreciate his help and urge you to take advantage of this opportunity in a way that minimizes the disturbance to his vacation.

To help you utilize Ahmed's help, I compiled a document that contains several practice problems that you may want to think about before attending the help sessions. Click here to access the document.

Sunday Class (Posted 2 March    2006)

I still don't have a confirmed room for our Sunday (March 5th) class.  Zeinab will work on it Sunday morning.  Please check the website around 10 am on Sunday morning.  I'll also ask Zeinab to post flyers.

Change of Plans (Posted 27 February 2006)

I first want to apologize for the parts disturbance that happened on the last two Sunday labs.  I'll do my best to avoid these disturbances in future labs.

Second, I changed the lab plans to allow you time for more practice before the first project.  The lab will have open hours on the week 19-23 March with a sign up sheet for you to work on your project.  Details of the project will be given shortly.
