About this site
Are you teaching Arabic? Do you feel you are an island? Are you looking for collaboration between people in the field of teaching Arabic as a foreign language? Are you curious about whether you are on the right track? Do you want to know what other teachers do in their classes and what advancements in technologies or methodologies they use. Most importantly, are you ready to share your experience and materials with other experts in the field?
If your answer to any of these questions is "yes", you've come to the right place. This site is an initiative started by Iman A. Soliman from the Arabic Language Institute at the American university in Cairo for sharing lessons, ideas, techniques, strategies and news between Arabic foreign/second language teachers in the all over the world. The initiative was inspired by a round table discussion in the MESA 2008, in which a number of Arabic language experts expressed their need and wish for communicating and benefiting from the expertise of higher Academic institutions in the field of teacher training and Arabic language teaching.
Here are some lessons, presentations, activities, quizzes, games, feature articles, and language teaching resources which I selected from my teaching portfolio to share with my colleagues around the world.
You are welcome to download and use the materials provided copyright and intellectual property is reserved to Iman A. Soliman and acknowledgement is given to the American University in Cairo.
The site also provides reports on work in progress concerning computer enhanced learning Arabic language projects that I have been working on for some time now. Come along and browse through the site and do let me know your feedback by emailing iaziz@aucegypt.edu
