Zeinab Amin is a professor in the Department of Mathematics and Actuarial Science and the Associate Provost for Assessment and Accreditation. Amin received her MSc from the Department of Statistics, Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University. Her PhD in statistics was jointly supervised by the University of Sheffield and Cairo University. Amin is an associate of the Society of Actuaries (SOA). The SOA is the leading provider of globally recognized credentials establishing actuaries as business leaders who measure and manage risk to support financial security for individuals, organizations and the public. Amin is the recipient of the 2016 Excellence in Academic Service Award and the 2009 Excellence in Teaching Award from AUC. Amin has taught a variety of statistics and actuarial science courses at AUC, ranging from introductory courses in statistics and applied probability to advanced courses in insurance loss modeling, life contingencies and enterprise risk management. Amin’s current research interests include risk management, reliability analysis, general statistical modelling with applications in industry, and Bayesian statistics. |
