The website on Skills Development in Egypt is established by the Social Research Center (SRC) - one of the research centers affiliated to the American University in Cairo - in collaboration with the Technical and Vocational Education and Training TVET. The work in the website started

in September 2004

Skills Development
has become a prominent concept that practitioners, policy makers and researchers address with great interest. Our world is witnessing rapid changes, and huge technological advancements that affect the modes of production, and accordingly the needs of labour market. "Skills Development” is considered one of the major keys for creating the labor force with the adequate skills needed in the labour market.

Our site focuses on "Skills Development in Egypt" from a gender dimension. The site highlights the successful international experiences on Skills Development especially in the east Asian countries in an attempt to draw beneficial lessons from the Asian miracle.
