We can identify four
research clusters that
have been focus of
attention for SRC; (1)
population issues,
including reproductive
health and family
planning; (2) rural
development and human
settlement; (3) health
and environment; and (4)
gender. We can also
trace the development of
large multidisciplinary
projects, covering a
broad range of topics.
All these initiatives
reflect national and
regional concerns, and
demonstrate SRCs
continuing contribution
to the formulation of
public policies and
informed public debate.
As social research has
expanded in Egypt and
elsewhere in the Arab
Region, the Social
Research Center has
sought to consolidate
its position as a
leading focal point of
development and policy
related research by
broadening the scope of
its own research and
strengthening its
relations with other
research centers in the
region. |
Research Projects
This section includes a
listing of current
projects carried out by
the SRC, as well as a
listing of some of the
previous projects. The
most important thing to
note here is that SRC's
high quality research is
relevant and responsive
to development needs,
and gets translated into
policies and actions.
Training
Supporting Arab Partners
SRC is expanding its
service beyond Egypt and
becoming a leading focal
point of policy related
research and training in
the region.
